Bedni Bugyal, a high-altitude meadow perched at an elevation of 3,354 metres is cloistered in the Garhwal Himalayas. Bedni Bugyal is located in the north-eastern part of Uttarakhand. It is situated close to China border. Both Bedini and Ali Bugyal are located near Mundoli in Chamoli district and can be easily accessed on foot.

Day 01- Arrival at Mundoli (1,750 metres) by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 02- Post breakfast, leave from Mundoli towards Wan followed by Bedini Bugyal (3,375 metres/11,070 feet). In the morning drive 10 km to Wan (2,439 metres).
Day 03- On day three start hiking from Bedni to Ali Bugyal perched at 3,300 metres. After spending some time there descend to Bedini Bugyal (10 km) (4/5hrs).
Day 04- Post breakfast start trekking towards Wan (2,446 metres/8,096 feet) from Bedni.
Day 05- Wrap your journey, drive from Wan to Rishikesh (2,200 metres/7,200 feet).

Bedni Bugyal is 04 to 05 days trek which can be commenced anywhere between May to November. This exhilarating trek has an easy to moderate grade level. The trek begins from Mundoli which is around 240 km away from Rishikesh by road.
What to expect from Bedni Bugyal trek?
The sprawling meadow of Bedni Bugyal is a nature’s bounty cradled in the lap of Uttarakhand. This picturesque alpine beauty is known for its green pastures, studded with varied Himalayan flora. The entire stretch from Mundoli to Bedini Bugyal is known for its rare Himalayan flora, that can only be found in this region.
The sojourn from Mundoli to Wan and later uphill trek leads to Bedini Bugyal about 11 km away from Wan. One can explore the virgin beauty of Bedini and can pitch their tents for overnight camping. For descending, go downhill following the same route back to Mundoli and then hire a vehicle up to Rishikesh.
Detailed Itinerary of Bedni Bugyal Trek:
Day 01: Arrive at Mundoli
The journey to Mundoli will cross Haridwar followed by Karnaprayag. Haridwar is 240 km away from Mundoli which is a swift 8 to 9 hours journey by road. En-route, you’ll see the confluence of Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag. You’ll reach Mundoli by the evening. Check in at a hotel, have scrumptious dinner and crash into your bed.
Day 02: Mundoli to Wan to Bedni Bugyal (3,350 Metres/11000 Feet)
Post breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Wan perched at 2,439 metres above sea level. Wan located about 10 km away from Mundoli is the last village en-route and is an ideal place for trekking. From here, a placid 10-11 km trail leads to Bedni Bugyal. During the trek, you’ll see lofty conifers and Himalayan flora sprinkled everywhere.
Bedini Bugyal is of the best camping location in the Garhwal Himalayas. This picturesque meadow is studded with a wide variety of Himalayan flowers. One can also see a petite lake snuggled in the midst of a green field and a small temple is located nearby. On reaching Bedini Bugyal, curl on the dewy grass and explore its boisterous beauty. Pitch your tents here and have an overnight stay here.
Day 03: Bedni to Ali Bugyal to Bedni (10 km/04 hours)
Wake up to the songs of the Himalayan birds found in the region. After having breakfast, gear yourself to trek from Bedni Bugyal to Ali Bugyal, tucked at an altitude of 3,300 metres. The trail leading to Ali also spelt as Aali Bugyal will involve a steep climb up to a thick forest covered with rhododendron, pine, deodar, spruce and oak trees. After a 4-hour gradient, you’ll reach Ali Bugyal. Spend some quality time here before marching back to your campsite at Bedini. On reaching Bedini, have scrumptious dinner and relax.
Day 04: Bedni Bugyal to Wan (2,436 metres/8,000 feet)
Wake up early to hike towards Wan situated at 2,436 metres above sea level. Start trekking from Bedini Bugyal to Wan which is a roughly 3-5 hours walk. Wan is the biggest village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. This trek is a small one and can be interesting for the beginners. On reaching Wan, have dinner and crash into your tents.
Day 05: Wan to Rishikesh (2,200 metres/7,200 feet)
Bid goodbye to the celestial hills of Garhwal and start packing your bags to return home. Have lunch at Rishikesh. If you are planning an overnight stay here then you can visit some of the famous attractions like Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Geeta Bhawan, Trimbakeshwar Mandir etc.
To cleanse your soul, take a holy dip in the water of river Ganga. Don’t forget to see the evening Ganga Aarti performed at Triveni Ghat which remains illuminated by several divas that float on the river water. Day 06: Rishikesh to Delhi
