Chandak is a name of a hill, located at a distance of 8 km from the city of Pithoragarh in state Uttarakhand. Along with the adventure, the spirituality is also in the air of this hill. A beautiful shrine named Manu Temple and a magnesite mining factory are located here. This temple attracts a lot of visitors during August and September when a fair is organized.

This amazingly beautiful hill is situated in the northern area of the Soar Valley. Visitors have to trek upwards to get to the top of the hill. This place offers tourists an opportunity to enjoy hang-gliding.

The weather of this hill is pleasant all year long. In summers, the place is full of greenery. In winters you may find the peaks covered with snow. The trip to this Hill is as mesmerising and adventure filled as the view from the hill when you reach at the top.

By Road

Pithoragarh is well linked by metallic roads which connect all major destinations of Uttarakhand. Pithoragarh is well connected to Delhi (457km), Nainital (218km) and Badrinath (329km) via road. Taxis and buses are easily available to Pithoragarh from main destinations of Uttarakhand and Delhi.

The nearest railway station to Pithoragarh is Tanakpur. The distance from Tanakpur Railway station to Pithoragarh is almost 138 kilometers. Visitors can easily get number of buses and taxis to reach Pithoragarh.

The nearest airport to Pithoragarh is Naini Saini airport. However the flights are not regular at present.
