Madkot Hot Water Spring near Munsiyari

There is a hot water spring located just next to the banks of Gori Ganga River en-route Jauljibi. These springs are known to have healing properties. Taking a bath here may provide relief to some extent from problems such as:

How to Reach Madkot near Munsiyari

The village of Madkot is at a distance of approximately 21 km from Munsiyari on Munsiyari-Madkot. Munsiyari is a well-known hill station. It serves as the base camp for many treks including Khaliya top trek. From Musiyari, one can take a bus, sharing-cabs or hire a cab to reach Madkote. The village is surrounded by:

  • Dharchula on East
  • Didihat tehsil on South
  • Berinag on South
  • And Kapkote on the west.

By Road

State-owned and private buses run from Delhi, DehradunAlmora, Pithoragarh, and Haldwani to Munsiyari. However, one has to check the timings for buses. Since the journey to Munsiyari is very long, from Haldwani and Kathgodam, buses and taxis are available in the morning only.

By Train

There is no railway station near Madkote and Munsiyari. Kathgodam (275 km), and Tanakpur (286 km) are the two options to reach Munsiyari via train. After reaching the railway station, one has to get on the bus or book a taxi for further journey. The journey to Munsiyari is quite long. Therefore it is good to break the journey into several stops.

By Air

Pantnagar airport is the nearest airport to Munsiyari, at a distance of 249 km. One can take buses and taxis from the airport to reach Haldwani. Naini Saini Airport in Pithoragarh is the other option but the flights are not regular. Haldwani is 285.3 km away from Munsiyari via NH309A.
