Shakti Temple is situated right opposite to the Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. It is situated on the banks of the river Bhagirathi.
Main Attraction of Shakti Temple:
The temple has a huge ‘trishul’ which is six meters high and has a circumference of 90 cm in the bottom. The upper portion of the ‘trishul’ is made of iron, and lower portion is made of copper. According to the mythology, this ’trishul’ was thrown by Goddess Durga, laso known as Shakti on devils.
Interesting Point About the Trishul:
If you try to move the trishul (trident) with all your body weight, the trishul does’t move a bit. But if you push it with a finger gently then it will move.
