Chaukori

Chaukori is a small but popular hill station of Uttarakhand. It is cradled in the lofty peaks of the western Himalayan Range of Pithoragarh district in Kumaon division of Uttarakhand, India. If you are looking for the place where you can have some good time in solitude, this is the best place for you.

As it’s name suggests, it’s like a bowl, cupped within the Himalayan heartland. To the north of Chaukori Tibet border starts and to its south is Terai. To its east the Mahakali River forms the Indo-Nepal international border.

An unbound view of the Nanda Devi and Panchachuli peaks is visible from Chaukori. It is one of the few places in Kumaon region, where tea gardens are located. It is a great destination for holidays. Here you will find nature’s beauty at its best, fruit orchards, and the forests of Pines, Oaks and Rhododendrons.

Best Time to Visit Chaukori:

Summers:

Summers are the months of April, May and June. Summers in this place are moderate. This is a good time to visit the place. The time is ideal for sightseeing purposes.

Winters:

Winters are the months of October, November, December, January and February. Winters in Chaukori are cold, with 0 to 10 degree celcius.

Monsoons:

This is not an good time to visit Chaukori. The monsoons bring heavy rainfall, during the months of July, August and September.

By Train:
