Gandhi Park near Clock Tower is considered to be the oldest parks of Dehradun. Named after “Father of the Nation”, Gandhi Park is a charming retreat for joggers and fitness freaks.
The park features plush surroundings ideal for practicing Yoga/Meditation and the well-marked trails that are great for walking and jogging.
Benches are placed at various corners of the park, where many elderly people and visitors sit and relax. The park also features a kid’s play area which has swings, slides and the newly introduced toy train. Health and awareness camps are also held here from time to time.
The park is one the best places to engage in mindfulness and to spend leisurely hours basking under the sun.
The park features food corner, food kiosk, ticket booth, restrooms and parking area. It is one of the popular stop-overs and meeting place for kids, youngsters and those visiting Paltan market.
On one side of the park lies Parade Ground, while on the other side lies the bustling Rajpur Road with popular eating points like Buffet Eating Corner and Kumar Vegetarian.
Astley Hall opposite to this Park is also a popular attraction of the city; you can either stroll here or watch a movie at Orient Cinema.
